Indeed, tigers are big predators but if they kill men, it’s there is a reason.

First, most of the men-eater tigers are weaken animals, hurt or old, that can hunt than easy prey such as man. Next with the loss of its habitat, the meetings between tigers and men are much more frequents.

Next, with loss of habitat, meetings between tigers and men are a lot more frequent.

The technique of attacking and killing men is the same as in stalking normal prey. A man-eater generally tries to surprise its victim from the side or rear and kills it by a bite through the throat or nape.

 
 
 

In East Bengal, farmers wear masks behind their heads to scare tigers, and to avoid tigers attack them from the back.

Although humans may be very rarely killed and eaten by tigers, the latter are notorious as men-eaters: in India, between 1877 and 1886, 700 to 1000 men were killed each year by these big cats.

In the meantime, 1400 to 2200 tigers have been slaughtered by men. So, we can say man is also a tiger-killer…
